Stendhal Arts Festival – in conversation with Ross Parkhill
It’s always nice when two of your interests converge. Recording the latest episode of the Shift Control podcast brought my interest in marketing and my love of music into a conversation with Ross Parkhill, organiser and brains behind the amazing Stendhal Arts Festival
With Ballymully Cottage Farm, on the outskirts of Limavady, as a backdrop, Stendhal Festival of Art brings artists from all over the island of Ireland and beyond, but it is much more than just a music festival. Modelled on Glastonbury, it offers a cultural and creative family day out over the 12th and 13th August.
In a digital world, when you think start-up in the entertainment world you think “tech” – running a festival each year brings with it different challenges, funding, volunteers, commercial support…and then there are the “uncontrollables”….year in, year out, Stendhal Arts Festival has grown its audience by 20% and won Best Small Festival for the last 2 years.
I hope you enjoy the conversation – it’s a great insight into what can happen when hard work, passion and vision collide.
