The art and the importance of storytelling
The recent US Election can teach us much about our progress as a species yet as I listened to a podcast with Randy Olsen the week after the result was announced, it was clear that Trump was a whole lot smarter than he has ever been given credit for – smart in terms of his storytelling and marketing ability.
“Houston, we have a narrative” is one of the most interesting books I have read in an age and if you believe the gospel of sales according to Joe Polish / I Love Marketing where sales is all about influence and persuasion and marketing is all about storytelling, then you will love this book too.
As a scientist he has made the jump into Hollywood where winners are judged on an ability to tell an interesting story.
Hard to believe that his influence for the book is the comedy genius behind South Park, or maybe it isn’t.
Either way, if you are interested in growing your business through more effective sales and marketing activities then this book is a must… and the most important acronym of your life will become ABT (And, But, Therefore) and not the Glengarry classic ABC (Always…etc…)
